The Twenty Eleven Theme

At the bottom of my page (is that the right word?), it says, The Twenty ElevenTheme.  What the hell, I thought:  I have to have theme music?  I knew this blogging business might turn out to be tricky, but I had NO IDEA that competence at musical composition was a requirement.  And, once I’ve written it, who will I get to play it?  I had a deprived childhood and never learned to play anything (well, I did teach myself – slowly – to play the recorder when my daughter was a baby and I was going to be that sort of mother: and by ‘play the recorder’ I mean ‘Away in a Manger’, not Bach transposed to the alto recorder).  Am I going to have pay someone to play my theme tune?

And, now I start to think about it, what sort of theme tune is going to be instantly, recognisably, me?  And me within, say, three bars?  And when I say me, Northern Reader me, or some other aspect – even, perhaps, all the varied and multiple facets to my personality (yeah right) – of me?  Where’s Adele when you need her?

No, wait.  I see. The Twenty Twelve Theme is the layout I chose for this blog.

I knew that.

Sometimes, I’m just too musical for my own good.  Life can be hard…..
